Akademiks Claps Back at Erykah Badu’s Incense Diss

Akademiks, the host of the Off the Record podcast, has responded to Erykah Badu’s recent criticism. This comes after he made derogatory remarks about the R&B singer during a live stream, reacting to Tory Lanez’s 10-year prison sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.

The root of Akademiks’ animosity towards Badu can be traced back to a 2017 episode of Everyday Struggle. During the episode, Badu humorously compared him to the cartoon mouse from the iconic “Tom & Jerry” series.

In a recent outburst, Akademiks referred to Badu using derogatory terms and implied she had relationships with multiple rappers. In a witty retaliation, Badu re-released a special collection of her Badu Pussy incense, featuring an image of Jerry the mouse adorned with a gold chain inscribed with “Livingston” – Akademiks’ real first name.

Responding to this, Akademiks said during a live stream on Tuesday (August 15), “I will give you credit, you are a marketing person and took advantage of this and I’ll give you applause.” He added, “Not one n-gga came to your defense, that’s how I know you’ve been spreading the pussy all over the industry.”

Despite his harsh words, Akademiks acknowledged the cleverness of Badu’s incense marketing move, calling it a “W move.” He continued, “Erykah it wasn’t that serious. You got your little joke off before. I just had to call you a little used up cum rag because if you know, you know, I’m sorry to tell you I’m keeping it a bean! I’m keeping it 100. Y’all keeping it 100 about me I’m keeping it 100 about y’all! I ain’t taking back a muthafuckin’ thing. But yeah ain’t no n-gga came to your defense.”

Akademiks then shifted his focus to SZA, whom he had previously criticized. “Yo, SZA? 30 n-ggas called me,” Ak continued. “Nah actually one person did say [Erykah Badu] was an OG type shit. I guess. Yo SZA, I can still you’re still clout chasing shit like that. Me saying this. We could get cool and you could sell some more merch or whatever the fuck you got going on. I’m not that hurt. I just had to spin on you. You spun on me a couple years ago, there ain’t no fucking expiration date on get back!”

In conclusion, Akademiks expressed his admiration for Badu, referring to her as a “beautiful legend and person.” This comes after his initial rant where he made unfounded claims about Badu’s personal life.
